Getting to Telendos: boat times, cost and what to expect
Taxi boats cross from the Myrties jetty to Telendos all day in season. The trip takes about ten minutes and you pay a small fare on board. No booking, no schedule stress: walk down and take the next boat.
The boat
Boats shuttle between Myrties and the Telendos quay through the day. Evening returns run late enough for dinner on the island. Check the posted times at the jetty for the last crossing that day.
On the island
Telendos has one waterfront hamlet and no cars. Tavernas line the quay. Paths lead to pebble coves on both sides of the village. The east-facing climbing walls stay shaded in the morning, which makes them popular in summer.
A workable plan: swim, lunch on the quay, walk to a second cove, boat back. Or stay for dinner and take a late boat.
Good to know
- Bring cash: facilities are simple.
- Reef shoes help on the pebble coves.
- Telendos was split from Kalymnos by an earthquake in the 6th century. Ruins and early-Christian remains sit along the shore paths.
